The unique architecture and long history of the Wirth Home, built in 1910, provides a backdrop for learning about the role of Theodore Wirth and the development of the Minneapolis park system. Current resident Superintendent Al Bangoura will share his experiences living in the home and the efforts taking place to preserve it.
What to Expect
Visitors to the Theodore Wirth Home will be invited to explore the main and basement levels of this historic home, designed by architect Lowell A. Lamoreaux. A self-guided tour will lead visitors to the drafting room where house plans and historic photos from the Park Board Archives will be laid out for review.

Shoe covers are required, and please watch your step as you navigate steep stairways.
Parking Street parking is available but limited; visitors may also park in the Lyndale Farmstead Recreation Center parking lot and walk up the hill. There is no drop off location available other than on Bryant Avenue.
