25 Groveland Terrace, home of the renowned Groveland Gallery surpassing 52 years, is an imposing castle-like structure within Lowry Hill in S. Minneapolis. This historic structure looks out from its hill behind the Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden - elegantly facing our downtown Minneapolis skyline, surrounded by church steeples. For generations 25 Groveland Terrace has caught the eye of passers-by with massive granite masonry and vivid green tile roof. Built in 1894 from the same stone and builders as our beloved Minneapolis City Hall. We invite you to enjoy the porch view and interiors, with fine art, oval plaster ceilings, carriage house and Minneapolis history!

The Museum of Russian Art presents ten or more exhibitions each year, as well as concerts, lectures, and other unique events that explore Russian art and culture through the ages. The Museum’s multi-level galleries provide a tranquil and intimate setting for its dynamic array of exhibitions and programs.

Built in 1929, the Foshay Tower is a 32-story Art Deco landmark and former Minneapolis skyscraper icon. Now home to W Minneapolis – The Foshay, the building features the historic Foshay Museum and Observation Deck, offering panoramic city views and insight into the tower’s ambitious history.

Experience the 1926 historic Mikro Kodesh orthodox synagogue that was converted to Disciples Ministry nondenominational church in 1980. The building, adapted for reuse, houses many walk-in coolers and freezers used to distribute perishable food by the truckload to thousands of needy Minnesotans. The Cowles Center houses the Goodale Theater, a space cradled by the remains of the Samuel S. Shubert Theater. A gem of a mid-size venue, the theater seats 503, with two levels of seating.

The Flux Arts Building is an exemplary example of seven buildings merged over the course of a 100 years. A Frankenstein building, some might say, its current artist-owners reimagined it into a creative workspace for artists in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.

The Open Arms of Minnesota Minneapolis Kitchen and Campus is home to the only organization in the Upper Midwest dedicated to preparing and delivering medically tailored meals at no cost to critically ill Minnesotans and their families.

The Minneapolis Rowing Club (MRC) is a community organization dedicated to inspiring a lifelong passion for the sport of rowing. We offer learn to row programs, competitive teams, private lessons, and recreational rowing for adults and youth over the age of 11.

For over 40 years Architectural Antiques has specialized in deconstructing and salvaging unique pieces. We sell artifacts such as lighting fixtures, stained glass, built-ins, hardware, fireplace mantles, and ecclesiastical elements. Each piece that passes through the store is on its way to a new environment. Located in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis, we reside in a handsome 4 story brick and timber building. The building was originally a factory for Nash’s Coffee Company and used as such until 1946. Come and learn the history of the building and the treasures we have inside!

The Granada Theater, a 1927 Spanish Churrigueresque-style venue and city landmark, was redeveloped starting in 2018, reopening in 2020 with the Uptown Lobby. This extensive restoration, honoring its original "atmospheric" design, transformed it into a versatile event venue and restaurant. Today, it hosts around 200 events annually, blending historic significance with modern hospitality.

Marvel at the soaring 22-story atrium and historic fountains. Explore the County Board Room and courtrooms, enjoy the view from the Law Library, and learn about the building’s history, including its architect. Security screening is required for tower access.

Quatrefoil Library was founded by Dick Hewetson and David Irwin in 1986. Dick often shares the story of how, early on, David was deeply concerned about people discovering gay materials when they visited. To keep things discreet, Dick suggested they tuck their gay materials in their linen closet. As word spread among their friends, more people began borrowing books, and the idea of creating a volunteer-run LGBTQ+ lending library took shape. Forty years later, we continue to hold space for queer voices and resources, resist censorship, and foster community.

Tour 32’ tall library stacks! The University of Minnesota Libraries Collections Facility was constructed in 2025 to house over 3 million books, journals, and other items efficiently and sustainably. Its high-density shelves maximize storage space, while a geothermal system provides an energy-efficient preservation environment.

Currently, Big Animal Productions leases 3500 sq-feet of the loading area of the building, subletting to a collective of 8 other independent artists and creatives. This is the quintessential South Minneapolis collective art space, presided over by Umami our resident studio cat and vibes monitor. The space supports numerous artists in the community with flex space for design build-outs for theater productions, public art spectacles, arts activism and community arts workshops. Lots of eye candy here, with wild props and puppets and multitudinous forms of art and curiosities all around.

Open Book is a community gathering place dedicated to diverse and dynamic creativity, conversation, and collaboration rooted in the literary and book arts. Founded in 2000 by 3 organizations – The Loft Literary Center, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and Milkweed Editions – now also the home of Weavers Guild of Minnesota, New Arab American Theater Works, Doorway Massage, Mayfly Design and FRGMNT Coffee.

The mission at Hayes Window Restoration is to preserve the character of historic homes by restoring original windows. We honor past craftsmanship by developing a skilled team and helping homeowners become stewards of their homes. Learn about the building science behind historic wood windows and process of restoring a window from start to finish, including glass cutting and glazing demonstrations.

The Dayton's Project marks the cultural renaissance of downtown Minneapolis. This newly restored 1.2 million square foot building reimagines the historic and beloved department store as mix between retail and office, offering a touch point in the heart of Minneapolis for community and a hub for business.

The Yard is a vibrant urban community sauna space in South Minneapolis dedicated to sharing the Joy of Sauna. In 1913, architects William Gray Purcell and George Grant Elmslie designed one of the most significant examples of residential Prairie School architecture in the country, near Lake of the Isles. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the house, now in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

The Milwaukee Avenue Historic District includes two blocks of houses built in the late 1800s and early 1900s for working class families. The district was added to the National Register of Historic places in 1974.

Founded in 2009, Foci MCGA (Minnesota Center for Glass Arts) is Minnesota’s only nonprofit public-access glass studio and education center. Based in Minneapolis, we offer a curriculum taught by nationally recognized artists, plus youth programs, corporate experiences, events, and exhibitions, fostering a space that inspires curiosity, excitement, and mastery community.

The George Isaacs Carbarn is where the Minnesota Streetcar Museum houses, maintains and restored historic Minnesota streetcars. It also contains the Russell Olson Library of Minnesota streetcar history. Visitors may go directly to the carbarn for guided tours, or can choose to purchase a streetcar ride at the Linden Hills Depot (42nd & Queen) to reach the carbarn.

This 1887 Charles Sedgwick (Dayton’s) building was a center for Minneapolis’ Progressive Era activism (1895-1920) led by historic figures like Maria Sanford. In our 4th year with Doors Open, see what a grassroots coalition of volunteers can accomplish as we work to restore this gem to its community center roots.

Christ Church Lutheran, a National Historic Landmark, is considered to be internationally acclaimed Eliel Saarinen's most important architectural project. It became the prototype and set the standard for contemporary church architecture throughout the world. It has a traditional composition of hall church and tower but takes that form and reconceives it with its exceptional use of light and asymmetrical placement of religious elements creating a completely new and dramatic spiritual experience. It has exceptional brickwork and with its fountained courtyard, reconsiders the relationship of church, interior courtyard and subsidiary church structures.
