Metro Transit North Loop Garage

The North Loop Garage is Metro Transit’s newest bus garage and opened in March of 2023. The 350,000-square-foot facility can store up to 200 buses and includes 24 maintenance bays. In the future, the garage will include electric bus charging equipment, powered in part by rooftop solar panels.  

In addition to bus maintenance and storage, the garage has several features for employees, including a workout area, an outdoor patio, break rooms, covered parking, and a secure bike storage area. The garage also has several sustainable features, including a 40,000-gallon rainwater storage tank, a geothermal heating/cooling system, thermal wall paneling, and LED lighting.  Come enjoy a tour through the eyes of a bus operator and end with a bus ride around the garage!


What to Expect

Guests will check-in, then be bought on a building tour of the operator areas, which will lead attendees to where they will get on a transit bus for a quick ride around the garage.

The tours will be lead by Metro Transit staff, attendees will be broken into small tour groups when they check in.
